El Museum of Eastern Asturias (MOA), located at Inn of Llanes, this is main cultural reference of the eastern Asturian region. Inaugurated in 1988 in the old convent of San José, its mission is Preserve, research, and disseminate the historical and ethnographic memory of eastern Asturias, offering the visitor a complete tour of the identity of this land.

Through its collections, the museum allows you to travel from the Prehistory, with archaeological remains found in caves and local sites, until Middle Ages, the peasant and seafaring life of the 19th and 20th centuries, and the traditional trades that shaped the daily lives of generations of Llanisco residents. Its exhibition halls showcase farming implements, fishing tools, clothing, furniture, and unique pieces of popular culture.

The museum is located in Inn of Llanes, to some 6-7 km west of the town of LlanesIt is easily accessible by car via the AS-263 road, where the detour to Posada is signposted. 📖 History and curiosities

El building that houses The Museum of Eastern Asturias was originally a Convent of the Carmelite Sisters of Saint Joseph, whose construction dates from the 20th centuryAfter being abandoned, it was rehabilitated to house the museum, officially opened in 1988 thanks to the neighborhood initiative and the support of the cultural association Friends of the Museum of Eastern Asturias.
