The Bufones de Arenillas are one of the most impressive natural spectacles in the municipality of Llanes. Located on the cliffs of Puertas de Vidiago, a few kilometers from the town, these jesters are cracks and chimneys opened in the limestone rock by the action of the sea. When the tide is high and the waves are strong, water and air are forced through these cavities, producing a jet that rises several meters and a characteristic roar that gives the phenomenon its name.
The environment, declared Natural Monument, combines the power of the Cantabrian Sea with a coastal landscape of great beauty, where green meadows end in steep cliffs. A visit to the Bufones de Arenillas allows you to discover one of the most unique geological wonders of Asturias.

The jesters are located in the town of Puertas de Vidiago, to some 12 km east of Llanes. From the AS-263, at the height of Puertas, pa signposted path that leads to the cliffs in about 15-20 minutes on foot. It is advisable leave the car in the village and continue walking, in as much as vehicle access is not permitted.
